Ben Meyers Summary of Halo: Television Series, Season 1—suitable to okay television watch—does not have high quality appeal. The desire to follow through on a season 2  is completely lacking despite the enticement of a cliff hanger at the end of the season.

? Yes? No? Maybe?

Yes. It originates from the Halo game and will serve that audience's needs at the okay to suitable level. It has its own intrigue and uses a technique of recapping the last episode at the beginning of each new episode to prep the audience for the new episode. Know this is not a high quality series nor does it strictly follow the basic story of the Halo game.

Episode 1: Contact

Ben Meyers’ Rating: 3.9|5.0 Starsììì

Contact—good to suitable—increases its energy as the episode closes. Special effects are not realistic. Hopefully, Episode 2 will be better just as the Rings of Power improved as its story moved along.

Storyline

In the Earth year 2552 an outpost is attacked by the Alien Covenant and John 117 with his Spartans steps in to help.

Buy a ticket? Yes? No? Maybe?

Yes. Even though this is low-grade it ends with anticipation for a better next episode. At this point, the story is good enough to keep audiences interested.

Episode 2: Unbound

Unbound—suitable—has improved acting. The main storyline is beginning to reveal itself but still has not 'fleshed out'.

John 117 visits an old friend, Soren-066, with Kwan to figure out what is going to happen next and what his next moves should be.

Buy a ticket? Yes? No? Maybe?

Yes. This is a suitable episode.

Episode 3: Emergence

Ben Meyers’ Rating: 3.9|5.0 Starsììì

Emergence—taking a long time to arrive at essence of the story—does not completely jeopardize its journey. Pablo Schreiber is a very good choice for looks and acting.

Storyline

The Master Chief John 117 is now in the custody of the military agency that he once trusted to protect and support him. Now he is having second thoughts about who to trust. With his consent, Cortana is infused into him  for the purpose of making him a more reliable soldier.

Buy a ticket? Yes? No? Maybe?

Yes. This episode tells how Cortana got started.

Episode 9: Transcendence

Ben Meyers’ Rating: 3.8|5.0 Starsììì

Transcendence leaves the audience outside its circle. It should have been the best of the episodes and it is not. Really?

Storyline

After Makee touches the stone, the whole military complex is caught off guard by a force that throws them off their feet. Makee runs away with the stone. John 117 reveals to Rz and Vannek they are kidnapped children who were raised as emotionless soldiers.

Buy a ticket? Yes? No? Maybe?

Yes. If one has made it this far in the series, then this episode concludes Season 1. This season kept promising and never delivered. There is no reason to expect Season 2 will not use the same tactics for audience retention.
