Summary of Chimp Empire: Television Miniseries
Chimp Empire strongly anthro-morphises the Ngogo chimpanzee community by assigning a storyline to their community that follows an analysis and likeness to human families, communities, and nations. Season 1 works as a TV Mini Series and increases interest due to the tendency to narrate this animal community in this manner. The great camera work coupled with the writing make this a superior, informative documentary that allows close watching of interaction between two neighboring chimpanzee tribes.

Buy a ticket? Yes? No? Maybe?Yes. The storyline itself is thin but the camera work and assignment of storyline much improve on what it would have been without the narrated story.

Episode 1—the narrator, Mahersala Ali, has been well-chosen. Anyone who loved to follow the British primatologist, Jane Goodall, may find this presentation quite interesting. Camera work is great.

Episode 2

Episode 2 focuses on a smaller, neighboring tribe of chimpanzees, gives names to different chimps, and begins establishing hierarchy within the tribe as it describes family members and their relationships. The smaller tribe has one of the oldest apes between the two groups. The show builds for Episode 3. The build is solid and does what a build is supposed to do.

Episode 4—excellent conclusion to a terrific story—follows the classic introduction, body, and conclusion that well-told stories follow. The series leaves its audience feeling as if it has been well-entertained and provokes thoughtfulness about the way humans handle leadership, power, and inevitable decrease in power as aging creeps in.
