Episode 1: An Unlikely Hero

Unlikely Hero begins the story with an introduction to Grant and his accomplishments. Both the presentation and the portrayal serve at the above average level.

Storyline

Ulysses S. Grant joins West Point for military leadership knowledge and gains field experience in the Mexican/American War and then moves the building of his military career to the Civil War with service centered within the Union Army.

Lincoln's General—Grant's Presidential Appointment—allows him to make mostly independent  military decisions to strategically divide Southern interests, movement of provisions, troops, and develop best plans for defeating the South. Watch for great reenactments and good documentations of initial war movement.

 Ulysses S. Grant commands troops on the Union side against the Confederate side of the Civil War.

Storyline

Grant wins the Civil War. General Lee surrenders. John Wilkes Booth assassinates Lincoln. Later, Ulysses S. Grant becomes President of the United States after Lincoln’s Vice President, Andrew Johnson, completes his four-year-term.
