CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG (Theatrical Release USA 2021)

Ben Meyers’ rating: 4.2|5.0 Starsìììì

Clifford the Big Red Dog uses the old technique of animated character interacting with live action characters. This movie’s story, like the childrens’ book it is based upon, delivers a simple, straightforward story that serves children’s needs for entertainment and can serve as a decent child/adult share. Watch for the lovable performance by John Cleese and note the good performance by Darby Camp as Emily, Clifford’s caretaker, as well as a good performance by Jack Whitehall as the caretaker for Emily. While the story is not memorable nor does it earn classic status, it serves its own purpose and is worth a light afternoon or evening watch.
