Coffee Run runs like a side scroller computer game walk-through except it runs very fast as it attempts to tell a life story in around 3 minutes. While the side scrolling technique is a great concept, it is easy to miss the clues of the story’s meaning. One must pay close attention to the white highlights and watch this short film several times to finally ‘get’ it. Notice the repetitive theme as the main character runs through her life. The storyline is very good and delivers a double heart whammy when one first realizes what has happened to sweet dreams and hopes. After watching, it is broadening to read the comments of other viewers before leaving. This short film makes a lastingly sad impression that makes one deeply think about how we walk (run) through life. For this movie, it seems a small adjustment in run time would help increase comprehension levels.
