Secondhand Lions—original and fresh—serves good family entertainment via the outstanding cast that features Hayley Joel Osment, Michael Caine, and Robert Duval. Not the usual watch, it has such a wonderful progression of unexpected events that one cannot help but admire its unusual presentation. A pleasant surprise that leaves its audience feeling as if they watched something that filled the soul fully.

Yes. Even though it may not rate as ‘fabulous’ entertainment, a certain decency marks this film that moves it into a good addition to the home video library and earns a watch and re-watch.
