COAL MINER’S DAUGHTER (Theatrical Release USA 1980)

The Coal Miner’s Daughter
—based on the autobiography of Loretta Lynn—is refreshingly WOW! entertainment. Earthy, real, almost award winning…some of Sissy Spacek’s best work and does a very young Tommy Lee Jones’ career no disfavors. It’s a comfort film as it promotes the rise from absolute poverty to a position of wealth. It’s a great chick flick that boosts belief in the impossible dream and success in achieving, realization, and materialization of the dream.

? Yes? No? Maybe?

Yes. One of the best works of Director Michael Apted (The World Is Not Enough). Great piece of entertainment that reaches to the soul. Worth both time and money to view.
