CHAPPIE (Theatrical Release USA 2015)

Ben Meyers’ rating: 3.7|5.0 Starsììì

Chappie,
despite moving slowly, has an underlying humaneness that appeals and keeps one watching when one otherwise may not make that choice. It’s made for audiences who love robot movies and the possibilities a robotic future holds. The conclusion of the film is worth waiting for and makes the movie. While Hugh Jackman and Sigourney Weaver are terrific entertainers, they both seem miscast for their parts in this film...Jackman, because he is a nice guy trying to play the bad guy and Weaver because of the serious look with a straight face. Dav Patel makes one want to see more of his acting in other films to examine his range and depth.
