BARRY LYNDON (Theatrical Release USA 1975)

Ben Meyers’ rating: 4.8|5.0 Starsìììì

Barry Lyndon
—a Stanley Kubrick-directed film—becomes a classic viewing from its first scenes to its ending scenes. Actor Ryan O’Neal plays the part of Barry Lyndon almost to the point of being surreal.

Buy a ticket? Yes? No? Maybe?

Yes. The movie uses classic British-style storytelling techniques and may seem a bit slow, but stick with the movie. It’s worth both time and dollar as it explores marriage, difference in class values, position, morality, and maintenance of family fortune and reputation. It’s high level entertainment.
