CHILD’S PLAY (Theatrical Release USA 1988)

Child’s Play
begins the first of the Chucky movie franchise. While the hype surrounding this film series exaggerates its ability to deliver horror, the movie performs quite nicely in a thriller category as it quickly delivers slasher-type murders without pattern as the only answer to this doll’s frustrations. The well-written script has a certain rhythm that Director Tom Holland catches and uses well.
