Child’s Play
begins the first of the Chucky movie franchise. While the hype surrounding this
film series exaggerates its ability to deliver horror, the movie performs quite nicely in a thriller category as it quickly delivers slasher-type murders without pattern
as the only answer to this doll’s frustrations. The well-written script has a
certain rhythm that Director Tom Holland catches and uses well.

Yes.
The special effects, while not great, are memorable and go a long way to
establish the story's line.
