KING OF CALIFORNIA (Theatrical Release USA 2007)

King of
California’s concept works from the premise, ‘What if there is Spanish treasure still buried in California’ and ‘What might have to happen to retrieve it?’ Michael Douglas plays a terrific character of a man just released from a mental asylum and his quest to take care of his daughter’s financial future through an out-of-the-ordinary dream. This is a fun movie that runs on a unique storyline. It’s an easy on the mind film for a lazy Saturday afternoon watch. Great work for Director Mike Cahill.

Buy a ticket? Yes? No? Maybe?

Yes. It’s original, nicely done, and does not require a great deal of emotional involvement to follow.
