Hurricane Heist is not one of Director Rob Cohen’s (Director of xXx and The Fast and the Furious) best works. This wannabe hurricane film’s illogical storyline—why would anyone rob a cash facility during a Category 5 hurricane and how could such a robbery, that would take months or even years to plan, take place without that much forethought—creates distraction that becomes too difficult to ignore. Because this director can obviously make blockbusters, it is a ‘head-scratcher’ trying to understand how he got involved in the direction of this film’s script.

Maybe.
This is a good study film to see what Director Rob Cohen can do, but better natural
disaster movie choices are Hours or San Andreas.
