Steel Magnolias has emotional impact and a certain charm that makes its audience feel like it got a front row seat into the inside circle of a group of friends who are well depicted by Julia Roberts, Olympia Dukakis, Dolly Parton, Shirley MacLaine, Sally Field, and Daryl Hannah. The acting is average to really good; portrayal of story is great.
