Beauty and the Beast is
a live action remake of the classically animated Beauty and the Beast story. It tops the charts for profitability
generating over a billion dollars at box office, but fails in originality. The
music is terrific. Emma Watson sings and one immediately thinks she should do
more musicals. She shows a certain sophistication reminiscent of some of Julie
Andrews’ earlier musical films; however, she lacks the certain sweet innocence
that is necessary to pull this film into the best of the best category.

Maybe.
The music is quite good and it’s interesting to see a live action version of this
favorite childhood story.
