The Wind Rises becomes
one of the best of Hayao Miyazaki’s animated creative endeavors. It tells the
story of a young Japanese engineer who wishes to build airplanes, his
disappointments as some of his models fail testing, and his concern that his
successful models are used in warfare. It is an interestingly written script
that explores personal relationships, otherworldly experiences, and the
connectedness of everything.
