2 Fast 2 Furious—fantastic
racing scenes—critics hated it; box
offices loved it. Despite its lack of realism in acting and dialogue, it’s an
adrenaline rush of pure entertainment. No message here. No preaching. Just sit
back and enjoy the ride. The film begins where the prequel left off. Brian O’Conner
(Paul Walker) is on the run eluding F.B.I. for not arresting Dominic Toretto (Vin
Diesel). He finally ends in Florida where he meets Tej Parker (Ludacris), a
street race organizer. Brian begins racing and finally gets arrested by the
F.B.I. They offer him a deal: take out Carter Verone (Cole Hauser), a drug
lord, and get a new start in life. The story is off and running with a few scenes with Eva Mendes (as character Monica Fuentes) thrown in as the romantic intrigue.
