KHUMBA (Theatrical Release South Africa 2013)

Ben Meyers’ rating: 2.8|5.0 Starsìì

Khumba—
an animated ‘message’ movie that doesn’t know when to stop—performs as one of the poorest films of 2013. It couldn’t have tried harder to be a total turn off. It’s a choke and gag, non-stop force feeding. Don’t waste your time unless you love to be preached to consistently rather than to be entertained.

Storyline

Khumba (voice Jake T. Austin) finds that being different can give strength.

Additional Thanks

Thank you to Director Anthony Silverston for directing efforts. Thank you to Executive Producers Michael Auret, Basil Ford, and Edward Noeltner for making the film possible. Additional characters/cast include: Seko (voice Laurence Fishburne), Tombi (voice AnaSophia Robb), Skalk (voice Steve Buscemi), and Phango (voice Liam Neeson Phango).

Buy a ticket? Yes? No? Maybe?

No. It’s a serendipity to learn from entertainment, but preaching/educating is not entertainment’s primary purpose for being.
