The concept is good. The movie is a take-off from the Robert Louis
Stevenson story, Treasure Island, except
it is set in galactic space rather than planet Earth. It’s a
Disney creation and uses the very accomplished team of Musker and Clements to
produce and direct it. The movie has almost everything going for it. The voice choices
are excellent: Joseph Gordon-Levitt, David Hyde Pierce, Martin Short, and Emma
Thompson. It does not play down to the child or adult
audience. It has all the bells and whistles, but the bells are not ringing.

Buy a ticket? Yes? No? Maybe?
Maybe. It is not the best of watches but it is
not horrible. The presentation and/or portrayal needs a little brushing to make
this film work at a higher level.
